The most important thing we can do is to protect both patients and staff and for this reason we have made some changes to how we will be working over the next few months.
Please DO NOT come to the surgery unless you are collecting medication or have been told to by a Receptionist or Health Care Professional.
We have decided to change our booking system to a telephone triage to limit footfall at the Practice. Reception will add your name to a list and a Clinician (GP or Practitioner) will call you back and decide the best way to deal with your query. Please ensure Reception have the correct contact details for you including email, mobile and landline. Please be near your phone as we cannot keep trying to contact you if you do not answer.
Please do not worry about having to see a nurse or doctor to have you medication re-authorised, this will be done for you to ensure that you do not run out.
Nurses will continue treatment room services but you will be contacted prior to your appointment to ensure that you do not have any symptoms of Coronavirus. These include services include childhood immunisations, cervical smear testing, depot contraception, zoladex, prostap and other injections as well as dressings.
We currently intend to continue doing blood tests as much as possible, but MUST prioritise those deemed essential i.e. individuals currently having cancer treatment, bloods needed to monitor patients taking certain drugs and bloods needed for an acute illness.
We are currently reviewing the method of INR testing for those patients who take warfarin especially as many of these patients may be asked to self-isolate in the coming weeks. At the moment we are continuing the blood monitoring clinics, however some individuals may be offered a swap to an alternative medication that does not require monitoring. You will be supported through this process by the doctors and nurses.
We are trialling various systems that will allow us to better manage the demand. We will keep you informed as this progress. Please monitor our website, Facebook Group and encourage your families and friends to do the same.
We have been working on a business continuity plan in case staff are unable to work. This includes remote working. We are liaising with IT to get additional equipment to support this.

Please make sure all your details are current (home/ mobile numbers, next of kin etc).
Do not ask for an appointment unless URGENT.
Do not request more than one month of medication, we are not able to provide it.
Speak with friends, family, neighbours to you have a way to collect you medication if you become isolated. Our team is working at capacity to ensure your medication is available to you as soon as possible
