Where possible and appropriate we aim to deliver an “on the day” service.
The fastest way to request support from the practice is to complete an Ask My GP request in the morning. The service opens at 07:00.
Please note that if you request to see a clinician please expect that we will contact you that morning to arrange this with you. For the most efficient service we recommend that you contact us on the day that you are available to attend or take a telephone call from the practice.
All appointments are triaged by a GP and will be allocated to the most appropriate clinician dependent on your request. This may not always be a GP, this is because we have specialists working in practice who may be best suited to support your needs and our GP’s will be instructing any of our Car Navigators to organise this once they have assessed your request.
For example in practice in addition to GP’s we have:
Advance Nurse Practitioners – who manage acute and new conditions
MSK Practitioner – who will assess, diagnose and manage any musculoskeletal conditions
Clinical Pharmacists – who support medication reviews and medication management
Wellbeing Team – who support end of life, palliative, frail patients both in practice and in the community
Mental Health Practitioner – For Mental Health support for over 18’s
Neighbourhood Team – For wrap around support in the community supporting accessing social, mobility and mental health services
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a Practice Nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
You can call us on 01529 460213 or inform us via Ask My GP in the mornings.
In August 2023, 130 people did not attend their appointments which resulted in over 38 hours of wasted appointment time.
Moving forward we will be monitoring patients who do not attend appointments on a regular basis to manage this accordingly.
