Zero-Tolerance

Millview Medical Centre has a zero-tolerance policy which has been created in line with Department of Health and Social Care guidance. Please understand that at all points our staff are trying to help patients. We understand that on many occasions there may be frustration, fear and concern in a persons behaviour and in all instances we will try our best to help.

However, we take a strong stance on supporting our staff. Supporting them to do their job and to do it to an exceptional standard and also supporting them to ensure they are not exposed to aggressive, abusive, harassing or demeaning behaviour.

All forms of abuse such as behaviour or the use of inappropriate words causing distress and/or constituting harassment will not be tolerated and could lead to prosecution.

A good patient-doctor relationship, based on mutual respect and trust, is the cornerstone of good patient care. The removal of patients from our list is an exceptional and rare event and is a last resort in an impaired patient-practice relationship, however, appropriate steps will be made for ongoing inappropriate behaviour.
